For the last 20 years, David Hunter and his small team at The Bowden Group have been providing Management Mentoring and Management Consultancy services to owners of businesses in the Restaurant, Hotel, Catering, Pub, Bar and Leisure industries.

The key difference with using The Bowden Group is that whilst many consultancies will analyse and produce reports, The Bowden Group will talk you though the necessary changes, then ensure that those changes are made, either with you or on your behalf, and will see it through to a successful conclusion or profit turnaround.

This involves making sure that the business is generating the necessary profit from its sales (ie Food Gross Profit and Liquor Gross Profit), and that it is controlling its overheads (the largest of which is Wages). Successful outcomes are: increased Gross Profit margins and reduced labour costs.

MANAGING PEOPLE

Here, we are helping business owners to manage the people they employ – from Managers, to Service & Kitchen staff. This can include dealing with ‘’difficult’’ HR (or Personnel) issues, and avoiding very costly Industrial Tribunals. It always includes improving ‘’Customer Service’’, as a product of improving the management of all staff.
